This story takes place not long after the events of the 1997 film Alien: Resurrection (approximately 2381).

Didja Notice?

Captain Usher's ship is the Euphrates.

The companion body aboard the alien-android hybrid's escape pod is revealed to also be an android here. He has in some way seemingly incorporated the alien embryo's spine into the android as well (see "Aliens versus Predator versus the Terminator" Part 2), making it into another alien-android hybrid.

On page 7, Captain Usher says he'd like to blow the two androids to Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse (also known as Alpha Orionis) is one of the stars of the constellation Orion (the reddish-star marking Orion's right shoulder).

Ripley refers to the Predators as crab-faces.

On page 12, Call identifies the Black Asteroid to which the two alien-android hybrids want to travel as Los Alamos 235.
