In 2029, John determines he must send Vanessa back in time to
confront the female Terminator.
Didja Notice?
Cover A depicts a public transit bus in the background that
appears to have a destination sign reading Times Square. In
fact, it appears the cover scene takes place in Times
Square, a major intersection in Manhattan known for it's
huge and colorful ad displays and has become a symbol of New
York also known as the Crossroads of the World. Several ad
displays are seen in the background here as well, all
appearing to be for fictitious products or companies.
Cover B depicts the Terminator with all of her skin still
intact even though her face should be mostly shorn of skin
at this point in the story, as seen in
"Time to Kill" Part 3.
On pages 1-2, Maureen remarks that the last police update on
the Terminator had it killing a pedestrian around 48th
street and heading north. She guesses it's heading to
Central Park to hide. It is true that New York's Central
Park lies about 11 blocks north of 48th Street.
On page 2, panel 1, a billboard for Wicked is seen,
probably referring to the extremely popular 2003 Broadway
musical about the Wicked Witch of the West from the Oz books
of L. Frank Baum.
In the same panel above, the rear license plate of the car
reads ASSMAN. This is a reference to a 1995 episode of the
sitcom Seinfeld, set in New York, in which the
character Kramer accidentally receives someone else's
personalized license plates from the DMV.
On page 2, panel 3, the Terminator passes the famous steel
globe in front of the Trump International Hotel and Tower on
Columbus Circle. In panel 3, we see the statue of
Christopher Columbus in the middle of Columbus Circle and
the USS Maine National Monument in the foreground.
Columbus Circle is a traffic circle in front of the
southwest entrance of Central Park.
In the same panel above, a sign for a brand or company
called Carr is seen on top of a building, but the letters
are backward.
On page 8, at the north end of Central Park, a group of
park-goers approach Huddlestone Arch, inside which they
unfortunately run across the Terminator.
Huddlestone Arch is one of the many archway tunnels in
Central Park and is located in the North Woods section of
the park.
On page 12, Vanessa arrives in 2008 New York inside a
clothing store that appears to be called La Luna. This
appears to be a fictitious business. La luna is
Italian and Spanish for "the moon". The store must be inside
a mall because a security guard confronts her who has a MALL
SECURITY patch on the sleeve.
On page 13, Vanessa sees an NNC news update about the
manhunt in Central Park on a series of TV screens in the
windowfront of a Digital Age electronics store. NNC is a
parody name for
CNN, Cable
News Network. Digital Age appears to be a fictitious
business.
The NYPD helicopter stolen by Vanessa appears to be an
AgustaWestland AW119 Koala, a model actually in use by
the NYPD in the real world. The aircraft registration number
seen on it is N318. Normally, an NYPD aircraft registration
marking would also have PD on the end for "Police
Department"; in fact, the NYPD actually has an AW119 Koala with
the registration number N318PD with a slightly different
paint job from the one seen here. (Photo of N318PD from

On page 19, the police helicopter N318 even appears to have
a red police light on it.
On page 21, Jane refers to the Terminator as R2D2. This is,
of course, a reference to the droid character of R2-D2 in
the Star Wars films.
