The title of this story, "Déjá Vu", is French, meaning "already seen". Déjá vu as a term is the sensation of having experienced a current event previously. In The Matrix, Trinity explains to Neo that déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix caused when the machines change something.

On page 5 of the story, the stockbroker mentions a pharmaceutical company called Pfitzer. This appears to be a fictitious company, but was probably inspired by Pfizer Inc., an American pharmaceutical company.

 

Amourtin appears to be the name of the combination aphrodisiac/contraceptive drug  Pfitzer manufactures that makes the stockbroker and his wife rich. Amourtin is a fictitious drug.

 

On the last page of the story, the stockbroker says he's now being investigated by S.E.C. The S.E.C. is the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, responsible for regulating the nation's stock and options exchanges.
