Didja Know?

The title of this 6-part story, "I.D.I.C.", stands for "Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations", a Vulcan philosophy first introduced to us in the original series episode "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" in 1968.

The character of Commander Valas, a Romulan woman who was born in the Federation and served Starfleet introduced in "New Frontiers", seems to get short shrift now that the Star Trek: Boldly Go series has been cancelled. It seemed as if there was more intended of her story after she was forced to surrender herself to the Romulan Empire and "seemingly" became an agent of the Tal Shiar. But, who knows, maybe we'll see more of her story somewhere in the future.

Didja Notice?

Kirk and Mitchell play a symbolic game of 3-D chess to represent their machinations across the multiverse.

On page 10, the Orphan says to Simon Grayson as they begin their final battle with each other, "...let this be our last battlefield!" This is a reference to the original series episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", about two individuals from a war-torn world, each determined to kill the other as a show of their superior race.

On page 18, Captain Kirk tells Sulu to set course for Waverly Station. This appears to be the first mention of said station in the ST universe.
