The title of this 6-part story,
"I.D.I.C.", stands for "Infinite Diversity In Infinite
Combinations", a Vulcan philosophy first introduced to us in the
original series episode "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" in 1968.
The character of Commander Valas, a Romulan woman who was born
in the Federation and served Starfleet introduced in
"New Frontiers", seems to get
short shrift now that the
Star Trek: Boldly Go series has been cancelled.
It seemed as if there was more intended of her story after she
was forced to surrender herself to the Romulan Empire and
"seemingly" became an agent of the Tal Shiar. But, who knows,
maybe we'll see more of her story somewhere in the future.
