Didja Know?
The British network that originally aired
Sapphire & Steel was prevented from broadcasting
from August 10 to October 24, 1979 due to an ACTT (Association of
Cinematograph, Television and Allied Technicians trade union in the
UK) strike, so
"The Railway Station" Part 5 did not air until
two-and-a-half months after the original airing of
"The Railway Station" Part 4.
Didja Notice?
The music that plays at the beginning of the episode and the
song Sapphire sings a bit later in the
séance, is from the old English children's game Tom
Tiddler's Ground. The rhythm of the song is similar to the
stanzas of "Pop Goes the Weasel".
Tully identifies the railway station as Dewerton Station.
This appears to be fictitious, though there is a Dewerton
hamlet (more commonly spelled Dewertown) in Midlothian,
Scotland, UK.
The unnamed soldier seen in spirit form since
"The Railway Station" Part 1
is here revealed to have the name Sam Pearce.
Pearce remarks on having made a hide of reeds out on Cottal
Marsh. As far as I can tell, this is a fictitious location.
