These are the studies of the 2000's version of The Mummy film franchise and it's spin-offs and media tie-ins, such as comic books and youth novels. I will be presenting my studies relating to each, such as commentary on the historical figures and mythology, sound bits of memorable dialog, screen grabs and my own musings. At this time, I will not be covering the Mummy animated series, as it is not a continuation of the movie series, but a re-imagining of the characters and events for a child audience (and it just doesn't turn my crank).

 

I am continuing to use the term "episode" here as I have elsewhere on PopApostle, as a separable piece in the continuous narrative of a larger story.

After the defeat of King Memnon, a warlord and sorcerer named Menthu challenges the Scorpion King. Mathayus, now a mercenary working for King Zakkour, seeks the palace of the legendary Lord Alcaman, a sorcerer who is said to have once ruled the entire world. When the Medjai learn of a phoenix egg found by Bedouin traders, Alex is one of three young acolytes who are sent on a mission to retrieve it and prove they are ready to become Medjai. Alex O'Connell, now a university student, plays hooky from school to track down his missing boyhood idol, adventurer/treasure-hunter Lord Horwood.
