On page 3, the Pinheads sing what seems to be an original song by the band.

The Pinheads' keyboardist is named as Bobby for the first time in this issue. This is in honor of the actor who portrayed him, Robert DeLapp, in Back to the Future.

This issue reveals that Marty's memories don't completely line up with the improved timeline he's now living in, where is father is cool and successful as a writer and Marty owns a 4x4 pick-up.

Page 5 reveals that Jennifer works at a diner as a waitress. The name of the place is later revealed as Shanerburger in "OUTATIME".

As Marty is watching old family videos and looking at family photo albums trying to remember is altered past, George comes in and sees the video playing of "Aunt What's-her-name's wedding." He is presumably referring to one of Lorraine's sisters, Sally or Ellen. Sally was seen briefly at the Baines home in 1955 in Back to the Future. Ellen will be introduced to us, by mention only, in "Hard Time" Part 1, and said to have been born in 1956.

Page 8 reveals that George is a college professor in addition to being a writer.

George's explanation of time flowing like a river, and a stone tossed into the river will make ripples briefly, but leave the flow essentially unchanged, is a fairly common concept in time travel philosophy.

On page 12, panel 5, Professor Marcus Irving is seen sitting on a park bench in the background reading a newspaper as Marty and George walk by. He is also seen the next day standing and reading a newspaper on the sidewalk when Marty and Jennifer drive by Doc Brown's home on page 16, panel 6. The professor will not be formerly introduced to the reader until "Who is Marty McFly?" Part 2.

Panel 2 of page 15 features art borrowed from "Continuum Conundrum" Part 6.

The scenes during Marty's voiceover on page 18 are from Back to the Future.

On page 21, Officer Reese remarks he never believed the whole "Doc Brown is building a death ray" deal. In "How Needles Got Here", the junior high Jennifer comments that she heard Doc Brown had invented a death ray.
